FoodLoose is a Community Benefit Society (a type of co-operative) established in 2021 to run Cheltenham’s refill store, which was initially started as a pop-up project by a local charity. We stock a wide range of loose dried goods, liquid refills and products from local businesses, with a focus on organic, ethical supply chains that minimise single-use plastics and unnecessary packaging. Our liquid refills, for example, come from SESI – an Oxford-based organisation that uses a closed loop system, collecting their large refill containers, cleaning them out and re-using them as many times as possible.
