DEYA Brewing Company

Here at DEYA we aim to take a holistic approach to business, aiming to be a better company for our employees, our customers, and our planet. When it comes to sustainability, there are many issues to tackle and not a ‘one size fits all’ model, therefore we are trying to be proactive and transparent in confronting this. Brewing is inherently a wasteful and environmentally demanding industry; we must take responsibility for this for change to occur.

We began our journey by first quantifying our emissions. This involved working with Zevero (formally known as Tyndall Sustainability) to calculate our carbon footprint in order for us to learn what aspects of our business are most impactful on the environment. We were then able to start making small changes quickly, for example: using recycling packaging materials where possible; introducing more zero to landfill waste streams to ensure as much waste is utilised as possible; using eco-friendly cleaning products where we can; using materials for our merchandise which are as sustainable as possible such as using organic cotton, recycled cotton and/or polyester; and only using water-based inks for the printing on our merchandise too.
